Heading back to school, sharing a first look at Tyson's parents' remodel, and breaking down our professional organizing services.

HS Project: TYSON’S PARENTS REMODEL

We've had such a fun opportunity this year to work on a project with some very special clients... Tyson's parents! We're very fortunate to live so close to his parents here in the DFW area and were so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside them on their home renovation.

For this project, Tyson's parents were looking to update their primary bathroom and kitchen with some fresh new concepts. From having visited their home several times, we had several ideas from the get-go and couldn't wait to dive in and get started! Tyson, in particular, wanted to make sure he was on this project alongside our design team to ensure that his parents were 500% taken care of throughout the entire process. He helped with sourcing contractors, attended contractor meetings, site visits, and design presentations, and acted as the liaison between his parents and our design team. It has been such a joy to work with Tyson's parents on this project and see it come to life throughout the various phases. From the initial design meetings to the renovation phase and installation, we're so excited to see this project coming to a close and can't wait for his parents to be able to enjoy their new spaces.

Tyson's mom absolutely loves the color green so it was really important to us that we celebrated this color throughout the remodel to spark joy in these spaces. As you'll see, we infused a pop of green into the primary bathroom with green shower tiles for a natural yet modern look. Over in the kitchen, we selected the prettiest green countertops that carry up the backsplash as well. It was really cool to balance the moodiness of these green gues with the crisp white paints that they selected for their walls to create a design that felt fresh.

These are some near-complete photos that we're sharing along with some renderings that our design team put together to help visualize the completed space. We're so close to being done with this project and we can't wait to wrap things up so that we can get in for a photoshoot to share more from this special remodel project. Stay tuned!

INSPIRED BY: BACK TO SCHOOL

Can you believe it? Summer has come to a close for us this week as the kids headed back to school. As a mom, there is a lot of excitement mixed with a little bit of sadness this time of year. While I love seeing them so excited to go off to school, I get a little sad knowing that they just keep growing up! The summer months are so precious as I just love having so much quality time with my kids and it always goes by way too quickly. Can any of you other moms relate to this bittersweet feeling? While it's hard for me, I know the kids are so excited and we're so grateful to be set up with such wonderful teachers in an amazing school district here in the DFW area. I'm so proud of my kids and am looking forward to a great school year ahead!

In celebration of heading back to school, we had our annual back-to-school family breakfast at our home! This is always such a special event for us where we gather around the table and celebrate the upcoming year - it's one of my favorite traditions! I love seeing my kids so excited and hearing about their feelings, goals, and dreams for the upcoming year. I know the back-to-school time is so crazy and mornings can be hectic, so if you don't have time to sit down as a family before school I encourage you to find another time to schedule a family dinner to sit down with your kids as this time really is so grounding and inspiring for them and is a great way to kick off the year.

One thing that we do in addition to the breakfast each year is introducing a theme for their school year. This year the theme is "You Got This!" - the purpose of this theme is to pump them up, get them excited for the year, and help them stay motivated throughout the school year. We put this message on these custom bracelets that we got for the kids so that it is a constant reminder for them while they're off at school that they can be brave, kind, or whatever it is that they want to be because they've got this!

We've also loved reading this book as a family. It's a fun one to read around the table and it had a lot of great positive affirmations to kick off the school year with. See below for our favorite back-to-school picks, including this book!
