Things To Do When Your New Build Is Finished
Things To Do When Your New Build Is Finished
SAVE MONEY BY DOING CARPENTRY AFTER.
If you’re anything like us, every time you see a Pinterest photo of custom carpentry, you’re drooling. Things like board and batten in an entryway, vertical shiplap in a dining nook, and draw jobbing wood beams really make a house feel custom and personalized. We’ve found that if you do these upgrades AFTER you’ve moved in, you can actually save a ton of money. We have an amazing in-house contractor, who is normally able to save our clients thousands of dollars vs what the builder would have charged. Reach out today, and we can use custom carpentry to turn a builder-grade house, into a dream home.
SWITCH OUT MIRRORS FOR HIGH IMPACT.
A lot of times the mirrors that you have to choose from with your builder are dated and overpriced. Instead of investing in the options they give you, bring in your own intentional mirrors to your bathrooms. Also, insider tip - always say no to any glue-down mirrors they offer you! These have a tendency to rip the drywall off, which will cause costly repairs. We love helping our clients choose intentional mirrors that have a designer look, while still being budget-friendly. We’ve linked some of our favorite mirrors below.
GO WITH THE STANDARD THEN UPGRADE AFTER!
When Tyson and I built our home, we went with standard granite that was included. Once we were settled, we switched it out to beautiful marble. This ended up saving us almost $6,000 - you would be surprised at how much more affordable it is to make the switch after the build is finished!
