Influenced by the beautiful hues and textures of the Mediterranean, say hello to our latest project reveal - the HS Mediterranean Remodel. This was a full remodel and furnishing project that we worked on alongside our clients and it was so rewarding to see this home completely transform throughout the entire process and we’re so excited to share the end result and dive into some of the details!
Kitchen
While we had the pleasure of renovating several spaces in this home, there’s something about a kitchen transformation that always gives us a wow! Coming into the remodel of the kitchen, we already had a beautiful space to work with as the layout worked well with the rest of the home, however, our clients had an amazing vision for the space and we were so excited to help bring their vision to life with design services.
A big update was the cabinetry. We brought in all new cabinets and removed some of the upper cabinetry to incorporate open shelving that helped to open up the space and give it a lighter feel. In order to add some contrast to the space, we opted for a classic white hue on the upper cabinetry and went with a rich, beautiful green hue on the lower cabinets and island to incorporate the Mediterranean influence our clients had visioned for this space. Pairing these gorgeous hues with a stunning zellige tile backsplash, brass hardware and golden light fixtures was the perfect touch to add character to this space.
Living Room
Over in the living room, the fireplace and cabinetry were our main focus when it came to the remodel of this space since they’re the focal points of the room. While the original stone fireplace was beautiful, our clients wanted something that tied back to that Mediterranean look. In order to achieve that style, we lime-washed the original stone and added a castone mantel - creating this beautiful, textured look. The original media cabinetry felt a bit dated and in order to give it a fresh look we designed custom built-ins in a gorgeous natural wood finish with a soft arch design to tie back to the arched elements carried throughout the home.
When it came to furnishings for this space, we knew that the HS Store would be the perfect place to source pieces that tied in subtle pops of color and texture to give the space its finishing touch. We love how the green accent chairs carry in the gorgeous green hues from the kitchen and the cane detailing gives it that coastal touch. For the sofa, we opted for this beautiful white sectional that creates a comfortable gathering space with plenty of seating. We selected this pretty rug with subtle pops of color as it acts as a grounding piece for the room and created a great base to build upon when it came to incorporating colors throughout the rest of the space.
Every design detail, furnishing and accessory was thoughtfully curated alongside our clients to achieve this beautiful look and we couldn’t be more excited about the final result!
Breakfast Nook & Wet Bar
Nestled off to the side of the kitchen and living room is a sunny breakfast nook accompanied by the prettiest wet bar. Prior to the remodel of this space it felt a bit closed off to the rest of the home so we wanted to open things up and re-design the floor plan to create a space that flowed from room to room. To do so, we knocked out the wall that separated the breakfast space from the wet bar and designed a space that allowed both spaces to live next to one another and compliment each other in design. Doing this, allowed us to create an open walkway between the entry of the home that seamlessly led into the breakfast nook, kitchen and living space.
Looking at some of our favorite design details in this space, we love how the zellige tile bounces light around the room and adds a subtle texture. To carry in the Mediterranean hues from neighboring rooms, these gorgeous velvet counter-stools were selected and we love the punch of color they bring to the space!
