A prep kitchen might not be on your dream house list, but it should be! It's the perfect example of beauty and function.

We love to help people optimize their floor plans on new builds, and lately, that means recommending a prep kitchen. It's especially perfect for people who love to entertain because it tucks away the mess and dirty dishes, so it's out of sight.

Prep kitchens normally don't get any natural light, so we wanted to use light and bright colors. We brought in a level of warmth with this beautifully aged trough bowl - this added a great contrast of old and new in the space.

We expect the prep kitchen to be one of the hottest trends in design, because of its perfect marriage of style and function.
