High Point Market Design Trends

High Point Market Design Trends

Today we’re sharing our favorite trends we saw at High Point Market! We had an incredible opportunity to be on the Design Influencers Tour for High Point Market with Esteem Media where we had access to go behind the scenes and talk to owners and creators of these brands and we were able to deep-dive and ask them questions about trends and where things are going in the interior design world. These are some of the favorites that we spotted and we were able to uncover.

Design Trend #1 - Imperial Brown Marble

We saw some beautiful imperial brown marble at Hurtado Furniture. Hurtado Furniture is a beautiful furniture brand that's based in Spain and the products are all made there. The brand is stunning with luxurious and elevated products and the craftsmanship is so artistic. Something that we love is this imperial brown marble, it shakes it up from Calacatta marble and brings in depth through the use of this rich, dark brown that is coming into full force in the design industry and we can't get enough of it. We are dreaming up some ideas to implement imperial brown marble into our design projects right now!

Design Trend #2 - 70’s Bubble Furniture

At Bernhardt’s, we spotted some amazing 70’s bubble furniture. The 70’s are having a moment in design and we love the fun aesthetic that this furniture gives. This would be great as an accent chair in a living room, a corner of an office, or in a flex space like a playroom. A daybed sofa or chair could be great in a bedroom as well to bring a touch of fun, comfort, and surprise. We also spotted some bubble furniture at Bernhardt and the fun thing about this furniture specifically is that it felt ballooned up but it has a recliner. It's one of my favorite pieces I saw. It was just too fun and so comfortable that I definitely could have taken a nap on it. This was a fun piece because it had the 70’s bubble furniture trend plus incredible function.

Design Trend #3 - Purple Lilac

Have you been wondering what the next color is? We uncovered touches of purple and lavender lilac. The color comes in so many different color tones and we are seeing it on fire around the design industry from accessories and pillows to furniture, drapery, fabrics and more. We saw touches of lilac at Eilersen in some amazing array of purple fabrics to use for anything from beautiful upholstery fabric on chairs, sofas, ottomans, ect, to custom draperies.

Design Trend #4 - Tapestry Fabrics

We came across the most beautiful new line of tapestry fabrics that Kim Salmea designed with Crypton Fabrics. You can see her line of fabrics on full display at the Norwalk showroom. Norwalk has amazing furniture pieces that are comfortable and functional with Crypton Fabrics. We love that crypton fabrics have performance fabric and their craftsmanship and durability are so incredible. We can't say enough praises about Crypton and highly recommend using them for any of your upholstery needs. One of our favorite parts of this line was the large oversized window pane as well as the tapestry fabrics. I love how she did this tapestry-type fabric in an array of colors. I am dreaming of using it up in so many different ways in my home from draperies to a chair to pillows and more, this is such a great fabric that's not going away anytime soon. More so, it's a trend-setting pattern that is taking the market by storm.

Design Trend #5 - Americana Vibes

What are 90’s American Vibes? Think Ralph Lauren with a touch of British Pub, American Flag, deep navy, touches of reds, crisp whites, mixed wood, warm tones, Persian rugs, and beautiful ornate frames with classical paintings inside - all of these details are in full swing at Sherrill Furniture and Universal Furniture as well as being seen across the industry right now. We love this more maxed-out look that has layers of design and feels earthly, Americana, and saturated in color.
