Transitional design gets a little feminine flair in this beautiful sitting room at our #HSCollinsProject. What was originally a formal dining space has been transformed into an inviting sitting space that welcomes guests the moment they walk through the front door. Being that this is the first thing people see upon entering this home, we wanted this space to make a statement. We kept the color palette rather light and airy with soft neutrals, pops of pink and brought in a touch of contrast with a few black accent pieces - such as the stunning arched cabinet (available at the HS store!). This was primarily a furnishing & styling project, so when selecting the furnishings for this space, we wanted to add as much interest as possible. To do so, we opted for pieces with curves and rounded edges as it brought a softer look into the room compared to pieces with stark, clean lines that would feel a bit too modern for this soft and elegant space.

Another design component we always take into consideration when designing a space is texture and this sitting space features several complimentary textures such as the cream boucle chairs, velvet accent chair and pillow along with a gorgeous spackled chandelier. By adding texture to a space, you create an experience that helps to satisfy all of the senses making for a beautiful design.

See something you love from this space or perhaps are looking to furnish a space of your own? Many of the furnishings & accessories featured in this sitting room are from the HS Store! Contact us today to see how we can bring a fresh new look into your home.
