This week on the Weekly Edit we’re sharing first impressions from High Point Market, checkerboard inspiration & favorites, a save the date for our upcoming Shop & Style session, plus a first look at our Drake Project - a modern A to Z new construction and furnishing project that puts a unique twist on the HS look.
HS PROJECT: DRAKE PROJECT
We’ve been working on a beautiful A to Z new construction and furnishing project that puts a unique take on the HS look. Our Drake Project is a modern oasis that carries a neutral color palette throughout with sleek finishes and millwork details. There are so many exciting design selections that were made throughout this home - especially when it comes to the lighting! In the foyer, there’s going to be the prettiest cluster of lighting that is bound to make a grand statement upon entering the home. Over in the kitchen, the island will be a huge wow factor and up in the primary bedroom we’re working on a floating wall concept. This project has been a designers dream thus far and we can’t wait to bring you along as this project develops!

HS UPDATE: AT MARKET
It’s one of our favorite times of the year… market week at High Point! We’re currently out in North Carolina for the High Point Market and although we’ve only been here a few days so far, we’re feeling so inspired by all of the design trends and incredible furnishings and accessories that have already caught our eye for our clients and the HS Store. If you aren’t familiar with High Point, it’s the largest interior design market in the United States and it’s only open 2 times a year. Designers from all over the country flood to High Point for this special week and it’s always so much fun to be here amongst such amazing talent! Between showroom visits, we’ve got some exciting meetings booked and can’t wait to share more details as our various projects progress!

Last fall we had the opportunity to join Better Homes & Gardens in NYC for a special event and one of the trends we talked about was checkerboard and using it in new ways. We’re all used to seeing checkerboard flooring but re-imagining it and incorporating it in new ways such as shower tile, a kitchen backsplash or as an accent on pillows and in art is giving new life to this classic pattern and is a design trend we’re going after in a big way.

FAVORITE THINGS: ALL THINGS CHECKER
Checkerboard tile is popping up everywhere in design and has made its way into the retail world with fun home accents, clothing and accessories. We’re all about this fresh print and are loving these checkerboard picks!
